Due to its town centre location mechanical ventilation has been adopted to reduce the risk of pollution from road traffic and ensure high levels of air quality at Sandwell College. The building has been designed around a central atrium to maximize daylight and indoor ventilation while reducing energy usage thanks to what it achieved a BREEAM Very Good.
